FYI / SAFETY REMINDER

Suspicious behavior, in Marbella, was reported during December.  An attempt by a young male,18-22, may have been made to gain access to a home on the premise that someone with a gun was chasing him.  The time was approximately 5 p.m.  The resident closed the door and called 911.  The police arrived within 10 minutes, but found no sign of the young man or any other activity.
We later learned, that at approximately the same time, another young man, same age range, different clothing, was in the area attempting to sell magazines.
Related, possibly.
It was, perhaps, very fortunate that the houses chosen were not occupied by someone alone and/or vulnerable.
Remember!!!  Be absolutely certain that you know who you are opening your door to, before doing so.

 

We are working up a list of email addresses that the Board can use to send out notices regarding crime issues in Marbella, warnings or other important information.  If you want your email address included on that list, please email Marilyn Tipler at  mdtipler@yahoo.com.  This information will not be published in the directory or given out to anyone other than the Board members.

 

 

LANDSCAPE CORNER

 

Entry-New color has just been added, dianthus and alyssum.  The lantana has somewhat been affected by our few nights of frost.  In the spring it's likely that we'll have to add some new plants.

 

Greenbelt- The rain that we had during the end of November and throughout December was a tremendous help with the appearance of the grass.  Our irrigation system was turned off during that time, so we're looking forward to significant water savings during that billing cycle.
We have finally received the report from the free Landscape Water Audit, performed by the city in October.  It is very thorough and lengthy, therefore it will take time to review it.  As soon as we are able to give you more information and thoughts on this, we of course will.

Amended CC&R’s

Enclosed with our last newsletter was a copy of the recorded first page of the amended Covenants, Conditions and Restrictions (CC&R’s) for Marbella.  Unfortunately, there was a typographical error in the recorded page that needed to be re-recorded with the correct information.  We have enclosed a copy of the corrected page for your files.  Please keep this document with your copy of the amended CC&R’s.

   The Board meets on the 3rd Wednesday of the month at 10 a.m. at the Oaks North Community Center.  The meeting is open to all owners.  Please come and join us!
